The two teams with the most Super Bowl appearances without winning are the Buffalo Bills and the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings last appeared in 1977, whereas the Buffalo Bills have made four straight Super Bowl appearances (1991-1994), an NFL team record. Despite their unsuccessful Super Bowl tries, the Vikings won the NFL Championship in 1969, before their first participation.

As of 2024, the following 12 NFL clubs have never won the Super Bowl:

Minnesota Vikings: Four Super Bowl appearances in the 1970s, but no victories.
Buffalo Bills: Four straight Super Bowl defeats from 1990 to 1993.

Detroit Lions: Despite winning early NFL titles, they have never appeared in the Super Bowl.
The Jacksonville Jaguars won four AFC Championships but never made it to the Super Bowl.
The Houston Texans are the league’s youngest franchise and have yet to reach the Super Bowl.
